Today Dane and I woke up at 5:45am. It was in the 40's Lastnight. I was warm and slept pretty good considering we didn't ride a whole lot yesterday. I went across the street this morning and got coffee and studied my Baja Map. With no cell phone and GPS because it's to expensive I have become a map lover. I bought one for $4. It was super helpful today so I felt comfortable with our planned 50 miles to Ensenada. What I did t expect today was 3015feet of vertical climbing in 50 miles. Those are good numbers for a
day of climbing and I ended up working pretty hard. The scenery as you can tell by this photo was spectacular.
The mountains undulated up and down and he weather changed alot today bit would be sunny, clear, and warm enough to take my arm and leg earners off then he next minute it was foggy and cold. I kept guessing wrong today and ended up sweatin to much when it was warm and then being cold. I burned through 3 bottles of water on today's ride. Dane and I agreed to ride at our own pace. I was off in IPOD land and felt great on the climbs today. Once I got a few miles outside of Ensenada I stopped and ordered some epic tacos.
As I was eating to saw about 20 really fit looking and geared up Mexican cyclists ride by. I was stoked. They looked like they were flying down the road enjoying what turned out to be a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Dane rolled in and we ate and talked about how rad life is and what not. And life is great. As we got into Ensenada I realized that it was a bit of a tourist trap cuz I got asked to pay $10 to camp. BOGUS I say. BOGUS. I maybe a got spoiled last night. We shall see. I spent 40 minutes trying to walk around town to get an internet signal to call Quinn on Skype to see how her music recital went lastnight but i had no luck.
Dane and I see lot of tourists here so we might hit a Discotech and get our boogie on in our Northface Swag. Then again might just fall asleep. Ya never know. Talk to ya tomorrow.
